The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige on Tuesday met with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
The Union, during the meeting, maintained that issues such as the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System, IPPIS, and the University Transparency Accountability Solution, UTAS, the non-payment of academic earned allowances and University revitalization forms a critical part of the reason for the strike.
On his part, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, insisted that the government is doing its best, and is surprised that the lecturers embarked on the strike.
