The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has called on the National Assembly to intervene in the crisis between the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU and the federal government.
NANS president, Sunday Asefon made the call at the end of its expanded National Executive Council meeting.
Asefon revealed that the meeting passed a vote of no confidence on the minister of labor and employment, Chris Ngige and his education counterpart, Adamu Adamu, stating that they are either incompetent to engage productively with ASUU or they lack the goodwill and trust to find amicable resolution.
The student’s body issued a two-week ultimatum to both the federal government and ASUU, to resolve the impasse or face the anger of students nationwide.
