Ondo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, has refuted reports that it was planning to sue the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
A statement signed by the state secretary of the union Akin Sunday, debunked reports that it plans to sue Akeredolu over N68 billion accumulated gratuities for local government and state pensioners.
The statement revealed that the chairman was quoted out of context in the report, adding that the state NUP will continue to use dialogue to press for the payment of its member’s entitlements.
Recall that it was alleged that the chairman of the union, Johnson Osunyemi, threatened that the union would sue the governor over the unpaid gratuities.
