PDP governors urge party to zone presidency to south

Southern Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have urged the party’s to zone the presidential ticket to the region.
Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, made the stand of the governors known on Saturday at the end of the meeting held at the Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
Ikpeazu stated that any attempt by the party’s leadership to throw the presidential ticket open would be deemed to be unjust and must be rescinded.
According to him, the PDP has a zoning arrangement that is recognized by the party’s constitution and that must be respected by the leadership of the party.
