The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says it has established contact with two of its missing staff after the gunmen attack in Imo State.
Confirming the development, INEC Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, revealed that the commission has suspended registration in 54 additional centers in the state.
Okoye maintained that the safety of staff remains a primary concern to the Commission.
He assured that the electoral body will continue to ensure that no staff is put in harm’s way while working with the security agencies to protect them.
