Nigerian army refutes claim of attack on villages

The Nigerian Army has dismissed claims that some Nigerian villages were attacked by a separatist group in South-West Cameroon.
A statement issued by the Director, Army Public Relations, Onyema Nwachukwu, confirmed that militants attacked some communities on Sunday, but it did not happen on Nigerian territory.
The statement noted that troops deployed at Danare received information about the said attack, adding that troops were mobilized to the Bashu community, which was allegedly under attack.
It added that four victims of the attack, who crossed over into the Nigerian territory were later rescued by troops and operatives of Nigerian Immigration Services.
