The Federal Government on Tuesday resumed negotiations with the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
ASUU representatives at Tuesday’s meeting said they were no longer interested in signing a memorandum of understanding.
According to the Union, academics are seeking improved welfare, revitalization of Public Universities and University autonomy among other demands.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, expressed optimism that the impasse would be resolved.
